Operation Git-Meow provides assistance to manage the cat population at Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba at no cost to the American taxpayer. Pet rescue of kittens and cats similar to the Humane Society. In November 2022 we began a 3-year project funded with grants from SPCA International, which provides free Veterinary Care to all residents at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. We have collaborated with Pilots N' Paws and Wings of Rescue to fly adoptable cats off the base to find forever homes in the USA. Operation Git-Meow’s focus is on military members and their pets. Operation Git-Meow is a Virginia non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to helping the cat populations of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and the greater Washington, D.C. area. including the Armed Forces Retirement Home. We encourage education on responsible pet ownership, and assist in providing rabies vaccine, micro-chips and other veterinary medications.
Kittens and cats who can be socialized and adopted will be available for adoption both at Guantanamo Bay, and in the United States through Petfinder. Operation Git-Meow works closely with partner organizations to assist with our mission of better education and care for community cats.
We are thrilled to have begun a multi-year program with grant support from SPCA International, providing free Veterinary services to all the residents of Naval Station Guantanamo Bay.
